Each painting in this collection depicts one of British Columbia’s most iconic animals of the land, sea or sky in lustrous gold, rose gold or silver leafing. Painterly brushstrokes also convey the animal’s movement through their natural habitat and create a sense of harmony. As humans, we are reminded of our duty to protect these precious animals and their surroundings.

The Great Blue Heron nestles among the marshlands protected by tall grasses and reeds. Shown in gleaming rose gold and surrounded by warm fall tones, the heron stands steadfast and resilient.
